To whom it concerns,

I’m very excited to be considered for this opportunity. I believe that I would be an asset to the companies organization. I’m a recent graduate from Christopher Newport University as a Business Accounting student. With the courses I’ve taken, and the extracurricular activities I’ve been involved in throughout my high school and college experience, I believe I have a solid, varied portfolio to bring to this program. Currently I am a summer intern with the Office of Administration, Executive Office of the President to gain more experience within the accounting field. One strong characteristic I have is the attention to detail in completing tasks and projects. I was able to demonstrate these skills in my previous summer internship with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The projects assigned to me allowed me to work independently and effectively. My overall performance, including supporting a Command wide conference and developing an on-line reference library for the attorneys, resulted in receipt of a performance cash award. As a student-athlete my entire life I have learned to always encourage my teammates, work hard both on and off the field, and understand how to take constructive criticisms from my coaches to then make those changes. Being a part of this program, I will be able to work under pressure well just as I perform on the field.

With regard to this specific opportunity, I have taken courses in marketing, economics, financial and managerial accounting and intermediate accounting I & II, taxation, auditing, and cost management accounting. With the knowledge I’ve gain, I am confident in my ability to learn and perform in your program. I also have great skills in researching and developing positions/papers as demonstrated in my course work. I’ve been an active athlete, playing team sports, and have participated in different clubs supporting causes such as children with disabilities, raising funds for cancer, and mentoring other athletes.

Once again, I appreciate the opportunity to be considered for this position. I believe that my knowledge and experiences in various extracurricular activities e.g. sports, clubs, community/volunteer will be a great asset to your program. I will be available to participate during the June 1, 2017 till September 1, 2017. I look forward to discussing my qualifications further with you. I can be reached anytime via email at mtrujillo121@hotmail.com or my cell phone, 703-965-5040.

Sincerely,

Marissa Trujillo
